Recently played at the Raindance Film Festival Almost A Legend gives an insight into the colourful life and acid wit of lyricist Fran Landesman. The film takes us back to 40's New York, 50's St Louis and 60's London, as Fran, together with husband Jay, reminiscences about their extraordinary life and encounters that shaped her as a writer. Featuring music and interviews with Bob Dorough, Carolyn Cassady, Gwyneth Herbert, Mark Murphy and, of course, performances by Fran herself, the film is a musical celebration of the mind behind some of the most powerful lyrics and poems of our time.
