| TRIAL – IRAN – DOC |

Won the Tribecca Film Festival In the village of Khosro, twenty kilometres from Tehran, the capital of Iran, a group of brickmakers has an unusual passion: they make 8mm movies. One of the group, Mr. Matin, has written 110 books and made 18 8-mm movies with the help of the villagers. But in Iran, book publishing and movie production are subject to strict government controls and censorship. In 1992, the group was arrested and its members sent to prison. Months later, they were released on the express condition that they make no more movies. They agreed to defy the Iranian authorities one more time so that Moslem Mansouri could film them as they went about the shooting. Winner of a jury award at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, 2003.
