With the development of technology there has come the possibility to investigate the movement and determine the characteristics of these 'underwater ghosts'. It seems that with their speed and depth they can move faster that any of the most modern underwater ships in existence today. Their movement and characteristics are identifiable: behind them the water doesn't seem to froth or bubble as they move. At the beginning of the 1970's, submarine hydro-acoustics periodically caught at great depths a strange sound coming from an unknown object. These strange signals reminded them of croaking sounds of a frog. This is why men in the Soviet navy called these signals 'croaks'. Supper-high speed submarine-ghosts; secret 'croaking sounds'; amazing figures, all being produced from under the ocean; strange and unidentifiable objects flying from under the water … What are they? Are they some sort of independent phenomenon or are they connected in some way together? Authors of this film-investigation try to find answers to these questions and others with the help of first-hand witnesses of these events, as well as experts and investigators. Today the curtain over the secrecy has been opened thanks to the recollection of former naval officers and agents of the VMF of the USSR.
